The meaning of and use of blood (the sacrificial victim's blood) in the New Covenant is very similar to that of the Old Covenant.
However, there are important differences between the blood of goats, bulls and sheep and the blood of YESHUA though, inter alia perpetual vs once, imperfect vs perfect, physical vs physical, spiritual and metaphorical.
In the old the principal items were sprinkled with physical blood, in the new it is either just metaphorical or spiritual.
The only ways that were used in the Old Covenant were:
1. The painting on the doorposts to escape the death angel - that occurred only once
2. To ratify the covenant, people were sprinkled with blood
3. To clean and dedicate principal objects, e.g. the horns of the altar
4. To dedicate priests
5. To clean lepers
6. To clean houses in which there was some bacterial growth
NEVER was the blood applied in ANY other sense. Nowhere at any time was it used to "protect" or "dedicate" ANYTHING else than those principle things that formed part of the worship as defined by YHWH, in the Old Covenant.
The blood of YESHUA is the only way to obtain cleansing, for, acceptance and communion with YHWH. This cannot be overemphasized.
The blood of Christ is the most precious substance in all of creation - it can and does buy, cleans, saves everyone that believes in Christ and act according to that belief.
1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers
No amount of gold nor silver can buy and redeem a soul, but the blood of YESHUA is enough for ALL (believing and acting accordingly).
The blood of Christ was only ever handled by Himself. In the old there was a physical container with the victim's blood. In the New there was no container, yet the blood was carried into the holiest of all by the High Priest and Victim Himself.
The closest that anyone comes to handling the blood of Christ is to made clothes white in the blood.
Re 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Re 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
In the first YESHUA washes us, and in the second the believers “wash” their robes = way of living, or righteous deeds. This “washing” is pure metaphorical and spiritual (there was no physical bloodsoap, nor washing machine).
The “washing” is obtained by the application, by faith, in the work of Christ.
1. He arrived as a man to be able to die - spiritual beings cannot die. There is more references as being Son of Man than Son of YHWH, as pronounced by Himself.
2. As the Son of Elohim (God), for which He was murdered, to live a perfect life, so that He could present Himself as perfect sacrifice (the blood being the evidence that He died) to appease and pacify YHWH’s wrath towards US and reconcile US to YHWH, thereby rescuing US from sin, wrath, and everlasting condemnation and torment, obtaining peace with YHWH.
3. Clearing the way for us to live a separated (holy) life from the world while we are still on this earth.
4. Allow us, having lived the dedicated life (like that of an engaged virgin), being part of Christ’s bride upon His return, to be forever after with Him.
From this is clear that the blood of Christ is to be “applied” today, it is vital for our relationship to YHWH, BUT we were never instructed to use it for ANY other purpose.
THEREFORE, the "pleading of the blood" has NO precedent in either the Old or the New Covenant should be rejected as misapplication of something very precious and holy (holy means dedicated and separated).
Furthermore, treating not the blood with the necessary reverence has extremely severe consequences.
1Co 11:27 Wherefore whosoever, shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith, he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
Pleading the blood over common things such as a credit card or a car or even a person was never allowed, even in the Old Covenant. To treat YESHUA’s blood like that is totally intolerable.
IMHO, “pleading of the blood” borders on or is way over into witchcraft.
PLEASE ABSTAIN FROM IT. It is a devious aberration, a teaching of demons to distract the believers from what the ACTUAL application of the blood of Christ is for.
PLEASE APPLY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST IN THE CONTEXT AND USE IT WAS MEANT FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE.
