  • D20240721c Law of YHWH BEFORE Moses
    • V005 - Adam
      • V005 - YHWH made a place for Adam to live - a place for a king and a god - a garden
        • 001 Ge 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
      • V010 - Adam was not to retire sitting in the sun the whole day - he was to labour and care for the garden AND guard it - he had ALL authority to allow whoever in or chase it out (except YHWH of course)
        • 001 Ge 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
      • V015 - YHWH gave Adam provisions to live of
        • 001 Ge 2:16 And the LORD God commanded, the man, saying, Of every, tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:,
      • V020 - YHWH provided a litmus test for his obedience
        • 001 Ge 2:17 But of the tree, of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.,
      • V025 - Nachash was crafty and approached the woman, to whom the original command was not given
        • 001 Ge 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any, beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every, tree of the garden?
      • V030 - Of note that man has already added to the "law" and polluted the clear and simple command
        • 001 Ge 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit, of the trees of the garden:
        • 002 Ge 3:3 But of the fruit, of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
      • V035 - Nachash contradicted YHWH, gainsayed, refuted and said Eve would not die
        • 001 Ge 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:,
      • V040 - The promise of the nachash - a deadly poison that had unimaginable pain and suffering in store
        • 001 Ge 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
        • 002 V05 - Commnent
          • To which elohim (spirit without body) did the nachash refer to? YHWH Elohim? Or the fallen heavenly beings?

A good case can be made for both. Personnally, I would chose the fallen ones as they had practical "hands-on" experience, a "ünion" with evil which YHWH, even though He made evil, He does not participate in it (He cannot - e.g. lie) - which the nachash is doing.

Why does he want to trap Adam? One possibility is that through humans he wants to build an army to take on the armies of YHWH - humans can procreated, fallen heavenly beings cannot.

      • V045 - Adam, Adam where are you? Where is your mind?
        • 001 Ge 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit, thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
        • 002 V05 - Comment
          • Some say that Adam ate the fruit to protect Eve - and to die with her.

Personally, I do not see any of that. Who had been delegated authority to manage the garden?

            Adam.

            Where was Adam?

            WITH Eve.

Adam abdicated his appointed "management" role, he abrogated his assigned responsibilities, resigned his role of head of the family, and allowed Eve to take the leading role.

Everything that darkness touches becomes a mess, a twisted, disfunctional operation - as we see in politics, science, families - destroying the good order that YHWH designed in the first place. A sober warning as to the contagiousness of evil - a very brief interaction with perfect man, a moment of letting down one's guard - and the whole of mankind dropped into a dark abyss..

And a sober warning for missing husbands and fathers - super disfunctional families. Also in Churches and ecclesias - note that the SAME instructions are given to presbuterious as to Adam...

But there may be a more sinister reason why Adam did not interfere...

He may have used Eve as test whether YHWH would strike her dead or not - as he desired that experiential personal knowledge of EVIL.

He had all the knowledge that man ever needed - he had enough brain power to name ALL animals - something that needs thousands upon thousands of scientists today.

Adam did not NEED to have that evil knowledge.

      • V050 - Nakedness, Vulnerability and shame - what comes with sin
        • 001 Ge 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
        • 002 V05 - Comment
          • Someone said that Adam and Eve's righteousness was their clothing - a good candidate as righteousness as clothes are described by Paul and John in their writings.

Note that man can only provide inadequate and weak "fixes" to answer for his failings.

      • V055 - People that willingly and knowingly sin run away from YHWH
        • 001 Ge 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence, of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
        • 002 Ge 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
      • V060 - The knowledge of evil does no good to man
        • 001 Ge 3:11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof, I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
      • V065 - Sinful man skillful and crafty to project his guilt - and does not stop at accusing His very creator for his sin
        • 001 Ge 3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
        • 002 V05 - Comment
          • Look - the woman You gave me gave me commanded me and I did what You commanded me not to.

            Nasty.

That which was good in YHWH's eyes have been so corrupted that he was as subtle and slick and the most powerful and crafty in the fallen elite - that perfect man he once was died on the spot.

      • V070 - Excuses and projections - no lowliness, humility, acknowledgement of abdicating responsibility
        • 001 Ge 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
        • 002 V05 - Comment
          • Frightening.

            Scary.

Here is the FIRST transgression, the FIRST sin, the FIRST confrontation in all of humanity. There is NO remorse, NO acknowledgement of guilt, NO request for mercy...

When YHWH calls us and convicts us of any sin, we better respond and jump at the opportunity to reconcile with Him. Promptly. We may not get a chance again - at least from within self - none.

This is NOT OSAS! But YHWH revives the ability to CHOOSE.

He respects that choice. We take the responsibility for it.

      • V075 - Declaration of war
        • 001 Ge 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
      • V080 - Usurping authority is dangerous
        • 001 Ge 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
        • 002 V05 - Comment
          • Adam abdicated and Eve took over.

            Disaster.

She did not came out unscathed. In marriages where YHWH has not been allowed to heal disfunctional relations, it is chaos and pain. Continuous conflict and tension - with many varients.

Husband acting like an eastern monarch, wife suppressed to a wimpering mess, weak husband strong wife ruling the houshold, or both strong and dominant... only and few possibilities.

Only when the Physiscian had done His work in both husband and wife can the relationship be restored and the original design of YHWH in a marriage be approximated.

      • V085 - Abdicating responsibility and defying a clear command of YHWH dangerous with dire consequences
        • 001 Ge 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
        • 002 Ge 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
        • 003 Ge 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
        • 004 V05 - Comment
          • A double warning here.

Eve was given as a helpmeet, assitant - NOT equal (in authority). In the fall these roles were disregarded and disaster ensued. However, it does NOT imply that the wife must be a wimpering wreck, with the husband an eastern monarch of whom each and every fickle desire needs to be met at all times.

In the New Covenant this relationship was restored - thank you YHWH. The husband is "bound" and managed by the word love - and that love has a standard - that of YESHUA for His ecclesia.

Was a lack of love the motivation of Adam? Or just being weak? Or was the desire for evil overwhelming?

Whatever the reason - men are to know and respect YHWH's commands above all else - even their wives.

The warning is to the wife - be careful in your communications and actions not to usurp God-given, God-inspired and God-sanctioned authority. If what the man demands is evil - of course she can and must resist and refuse.

      • V090 - Death to the dearest of dear relationships
        • 001 Ge 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden, of Eden, to till the ground from whence, he was taken.
        • 002 Ge 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east, of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

          • Going through Gen 3 is an alarming, disturbing and depressing exercise.

So much is said in that short passage - uncountable books and thesis can be written about it.

The most tragic part of this account is that man was driven from his "god garden" AND from the presence of YHWH. Where he lived as a king and a "god" (well watered and beautiful gardens were considered the abode of gods), being cared and provided for, Adam was banished from that placed, and had eke out a living from a hostile and warped nature, as a slave.

But the worst was that he was driven from the presence of YHWH - even futher than when they fled and hide themselves.

The curse of death had to be retained - the only way the YHWH had to declare man righteous - through the death of the Promise to Eve.

But YHWH be thanked - we can be freed from this curse(s) (to a great extend at least, but we are still under part of it until YESHUA returns).

      • V095 - A concise summary of the fulfilment of the promise to Eve
        • 001 Ro 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
        • 002 Ro 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned, after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
        • 003 Ro 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the, judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offenses unto justification.
        • 004 Ro 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so, by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
        • 005 V05 - Comment
          • Only through YESHUA can we receive a new heart on which the laws of YHWH is written. Only through YESHUA we receive the Holy Spirt through Whom we can overcome and subdue the inherent curses in humankind - inherited from Adam and transferred at the moment of conception.

Fascinating that the one who "caused" ALL of man's troubles, and in a sense hated for it, and punished (as it is in Muslim countries today), being chosen to be bearer (and only human source of genes) of the Saviour.

Women should study women like Rahab, Ruth, the woman at the well, the blood-flowing woman to understand the incredible tenderness and mercy YHWH has towards them - and learn from them the tenderness with which He treats those that come to Him in humility and faith.

Men should find their role model in YESHUA - the second Adam - the spectrum of His personality is too wide to even try to summarise here.

We have still a "garden" to look after - our new life. We need to guard it.

      • V100 - Commandments that Adam and Eve transgressed
        • 001 You shall have no gods before YHWH
          • 001 Ge 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
            • They wanted to be "as gods" - separate and apart from YHWH. This is putting oneself to be equal to YHWH, in a place disallowed, rising above to what YHWH had placed as limit.
        • 002 You shall not bear false witness
          • 001 Ge 3:12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
          • 002 Ge 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
            • Both were speaking the truth - and lying at the same time.

Fascinating that the Heb word "anah" means answer and "sheqer" deceiption and "ed" witness. Their answers were deceiptive in the sense that it hid the real reason WHY they desired and ate the fruit.

No wonder that the very first statement of the Prophet like Moses, was to be poor in spirit - be in the state of acknowledging guilt. And the second was to mourn over one's own filthiness and inability to do anything about it, then the desire to be right with YHWH.

        • 003 You shall not desire "unlawful to you" things
          • 001 Ge 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit, thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
            • Desire as such is not necessarily evil. But desire applied in the wrong context is evil. Desiring what YHWH had forbidden was evil, giving in to that desire had unmentionable bad consequences.

Take Amnon and David - their strong sexual desire uncontrolled led to much pain and bloodshed - and it tarnish the glittering image of a man's after YHWH's own heart.

              We need to be beware.

        • 004 You shall not steal
          • 001 Ge 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit, thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
            • YHWH "reserved" the tree to Himself. The only hedge around it was His command and man's obedience. Breaking that fence and stealing to what was not given them brought with it a flood of evil that man still battles to resist.
          • For me it was as a bright light in a dark and dimly lit room was switched on when I realised (thank you Youtube, there is still SOME good in you thanks to dedicated to righteousness people) that YHWH's laws were not only contained in the Old Covenant but has a much wider application. So much of the "law" and the apparent contradictions became much more clear.

An eye opener was that seminal elements were at work in Eden and how these were transgressed by the first two humans.

            Alarming and sobering.

We live in a world where the difference between Christianity and the world and even occultism is paper thin. A landslide of uncontrolled iniquity and filth has moved and flexed our boundaries alarmingly.

It is time to reevaluate and reflect seriously - we need to escape from this move to destruction.

How do we get right with YHWH? Faith in what YESHUA has done. Ro 7 clearly iindicates that even a saved, reborn person may desire eagerly to be freed from sin - and fail, time an time again.

Ro 8 gives the answer to victory. The law instituted in Eden was effected when YESHUA paid and rose and baptised in the Spirit - the Law of Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made the believer free from the curse of sin and death.

            Astoundingly simple, massively effective.

This scripture I found to become a deadly sword against sin...
