Disclaimer : I am NO language expert, having rudimentary langauge training, so I am totally dependent on what I can find in the dictionaries and Strongs. So read this with a pinch of salt or reject it in total. The choice is yours....
Now, words change meaning over time, therefore some words of the King James Bible is practically meaningless to us today. However, and unfortunately this is the only (electronic) Bible I could find that has the Strongs numbers associated with the words (and it is quite a literal translation) - so I had to live with it. Additionally, copyright issues limits one - and apparently the King James is somewhat more relaxed - but I may be wrong on this account.
However, where words have the same meaning as in the days of translation, it is of utmost importance to have the correct words in the translation for understanding the meaning. One's eternal life may depend on it.
I have found by looking at the meaning of words (via Strongs) in the New Testament that an apparent discrepancy exists between some translated words and the original words in the either Greek or Hebrew. Some claimed that these words were translated to keep the current political and ecclesiastical systems intact. One said, your pastor is keeping a secret from you - he is not is not in the Bible. And others claimed that church actually came from Circe, and nephilim/gibbor mixed breed. I had to investigate myself.
It is an interesting journey to put everything on a rack, ignoring it while only digging through the Bible. This study is what I found regarding the word "preach" - and eventually the "conspiracy" jumps into one'a face each time one sees. As one smart said, when you see, you cannot unsee...
The most important example of, lets call it "mistranslation" is "preach". Replacing the actual word with a word close to the meaning of the original, the meaning of the verse changes, somewhat dramatically in some instances.I came to the conclusion that it was a "conspiracy" to keep the concept of "church" intact. And following the mistralation of ecclesia, and totally miscarry the original meaning, to "church".
IT IS TO THE DETRIMENT OF YHWH's PLAN. See Ps 22 - the reason of YESHUA's suffering is have Him announce YHWH's name amongst His brethren. Looking at the New Testament, it is clear that is is through the operation of the Holy Spirit in the members - not having ALL the gifts concentrated in ONE man, having one mouth and one set of ears. The New Covenant is filled with specific instructions how a small(ish) group of people form the body of Christ with Him as head has to operate. There is no comparison.
Now I am not saying that a small house church or ecclesia is the be all and end all with all YHWH's smiles and happiness and multitudes of His blessings. No. We shoud never underestimate the unstoppable pride of Lucifer, audacious cunning of Satan, the unmitigated efforts of evil spirits, fired and motivated by their naked fear of the future (see Ps 82, Ro 11:25, Lu 8:31, Jude 1:6). They fear that place - the abussos... And we should not underestimate the deceitfulness of our own hearts. There are plenty examples in the life of Israel - and in the New Covenant and in history, of the ease of an devastating effect of wandering away from the YHWH,
AND I am not saying the ALL preachers and ALL churches are evil and should be closed. YHWH did and still do use many to do much good work, But as the temperature and pressure of the end times conflict rises - and this can happen in a sudden unexpected stepped fashion - we have examples of it - all over the world, I believe that those that will maintain their loyalty and allience to YHWH will be in close knit comminities - banished non the less to be outside the dark infested world invisioned by the delusional world leaders.
Below is a comprehensive list of all the words translated (at least in most cases) as "preach" .
Read the meaning of the word in Strongs, consider the verses and using your own reasoning, if you had to translate the sentence, using hermeunetic principles, would you consider "preach" to be the absolute best word to use?
Think about the ramifications, the implications on the body of Christ IF the corrrect word were to be used, AND the implications on this body using "preach". What are they translated it such?
