YESHUA's betrayal, arrest and hearing
- V10 - YESHUA predicts His death
  - 001 Mt 26:2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
- V15 - The high priests, scribes. and elders assembled to plan YESHUA's extermination and removal from this earth - and their greatest irritation
  - 001 Mt 26:3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
  - 002 Mt 26:4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and kill him.
  - 003 Mt 26:5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
  - 004 V05 - Comment
    - Ever the same, too weak to confront the truth directly, afraid of light, yet filled with hatred and resentment, burning in their hearts, they will stop at nothing to destroy the Truth.
      Using any and all kinds of lies and subterfuge, even using the fear of people to be injected with ungodly and terrifying substances, they work and plan in the dark.
      Only when they believe that they will generate enough force to overcome good, will they spring a surprise attack.
      Be aware, the spirits that operated in these men are just as alive and active as it was then - and, quite possible - being assisted by the spirits that were chained in the abyss and accessed by scientists - again in the dark and tens of meters under the ground.
      It is as if the armies of darkness have been conitinuously mobilised, and the battleground ready for the final showdown.
      
      The whole scene is waiting for the first shot to be fired before the fiercest battles of all time will start.
- V20 - Planning the betrayal
  - 001 Mt 26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
  - 002 Mt 26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
  - 003 Mt 26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
  - 004 V05 - Comment
    - The wicked will resort to any dark method to obtain their objectives - would have better for the betrayer not been born.
      These evil men?
- V25 - Identifying the betrayer
  - 001 Mt 26:17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
  - 002 Mt 26:21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
  - 003 Mt 26:22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
  - 004 Mt 26:23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
  - 005 Mt 26:24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
  - 006 Mt 26:25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
- V30 - The betrayal
  - 001 Mt 26:46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
  - 002 Mt 26:47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
  - 003 Mt 26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever, I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.,
  - 004 Mt 26:49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
  - 005 Mt 26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore, art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
- V35 - YESHUA's mercy - and protection of an impulsive man
  - 001 Mt 26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
  - 002 Mt 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
  - 003 Mt 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot, now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
  - 004 Mt 26:54 But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
  - 005 V05 - Comment
    - First, in his Master's most intense emotional suffering moments, when He needed it most, and requested it several times, Peter was asleep. Then, suddenly, impetuously, he attacks.
      What was the man thinking? He against the hordes? Then he attacks the most vulnerable and the most untouchable man amongst the crowd.
      Striking the property of the high priest was striking the the high priest - Peter was immediately in line to be summarily executed.
      But His Master, even in this crucial, infinately high pressure moment, YESHUA halt the desire of the devil to sift Peter as chaff to be blown away or burnt...
      Poor man, the reason he disowned YESHUA - who saved Him? YHWH does not mince around. When He puts man into the melting hot surface of emotional turmoil, even usign an insignificant fowl to poke deep and mercilessly into the abcess in the heart, He manages, when man in in the furnace, to separate the slag from the metal and let it be ejected out of man - tears from a broken heart in this case.
      Let us in these moments of emotional turnoil and suffering allow YHWH to scrape off the impurites until He sees His Son in the reflection from the cleansed and pure silver.
- V40 - YESHUA at last into the hands that eagerly waited to grind Him and His message into dust and scatter it into the wind - forever forgotten
  - 001 Mt 26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily, with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold, on me.
  - 002 Mt 26:56 But all this was done, that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
  - 003 Mt 26:57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
- V45 - When men are mad, they will upturn and flagrently break every law of YHWH to accomplish their goals
  - 001 Mt 26:59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;,
- V50 - Stupidy piled upon stupidity. The dog caught the bus and looks stupid - does not know what to do with it. The folly of grown up elete when infused with burning hatred
  - 001 Mt 26:60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last, came two false witnesses,
  - 002 Mt 26:61 And said, this fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
  - 003 Mt 26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
- V55 - Will accept false witnesses in order to condemn the righteous
  - 001 Mt 26:60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last, came two false witnesses,
- V60 - The final question - the absolute burning issue - the question, answer and reaction that will change the course of the world
  - 001 Mt 26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
  - 002 Mt 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter, shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
  - 003 V05 - Comment
    - This was the centre of the whole controversy - the contention whether YESHUA WAS the Son of YHWH.
      In the mind of YHWH and in His acts - undeniably.
      In the minds of mature men in powerful positions infested and motivated by the forces of darkness - absolutely not.
      Like Crawley they had a very unpleasant and shocking realisation upon their death - they have been misled, fooled, hoodwinked by darkness, their hard and unbelieving hearts the breading grounds for these poisonous plants. Alas, the realisation came too late. And they will suffer the consequences.
      Peter warned us of Sodom. Let us be warned of these people, not spurning the Son of YHWH. He is the standard and the door and way into the kingdom of YHWH.
      Let us not fall short of entering in due to a low or twisted evaluation of the Son of YHWH.
- V65 - Accusing YESHUA of blasphemy when he is witnessing of the truth
  - 001 Mt 26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
  - 002 Mt 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter, shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
  - 003 Mt 26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
  - 004 Mt 26:66 What think ye?, They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
- V70 - The final decision
  - 001 Mt 26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
  - 002 Mt 26:66 What think ye?, They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
  - 003 V05 - Comment
    - There comes a time in every man's life to decide on who YESHUA is.
      That decision will seal the person's fate. Finally.
      And the course of life forward.
- V75 - The action after the final decision
  - 001 Mt 26:67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
  - 002 Mt 26:68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
  - 003 V05 - Comment
    - Anyone, theologians included, who made the decision about YESHUA Annointed, will act in the way concommitant to the option they have chosen.
      Either in great respect and submission, true and deep worship, or will treat Him with disrespect and ridicule, even physical violence if possible.
      How do we that confess YESHUA treat Him? How does our assemblies reflect our respect for Him? Our worship? Our care for each other? Our teachings?
      OUR LIVES?

  - The least day of YESHUA's life has several moments of great historical and theoilogical significance.
    The last supper, Gethsemany, the betrayal and arrest, the first hearing, the second hearing, being scourged, His crucifixion and death, His burial - each has deep meaning.
    The one however, around which all the other revolves, is the hearing at the high priest's abode, And the question wheter YESHUA was the Son of YHWH or not.
    The verdict would change history - and the world.
    The SAME principle applies today... How do we respond to YESHUA's claim to be the Son of YHWH.
    As then, our answer will change our future and have an impact on our lives from now into eternity - and will impact those around us.
