006 Blessings and curses - conditionality

  - 001 Ge 4:7 If {0518} thou doest well shalt thou not be accepted and if {0518} thou doest not well sin lieth at the door And unto thee shall be his desire and thou shalt rule over him

- V15 - Ifs of being blessed
  - Note
    - There is a very dangerous way to follow when reading and interpreting the Bible, a trap that needs to be avoided at all costs - misidentification.
      This works in several ways, e.g. a warning, judgment, reprimand, curse or command that is clearly directed at one, or the people one is part of - and it is ignored and explained away.
      The other is to identify oneself with a person or group that one is not part of, and apply a promise, prophesy, blessing that is clearly only applicable to a specific person or group.
      These are of the issues that needs to be taken into serious consideration when studying the Old Covenant. For instance, which of the Mosaic laws are still in effect for Christians? Some want to include many, others reject all.
      Same with the conditional blessings and curses. Which needs to be considered and which only requires an academic acknowledgement? The underlying principle is that YHWH rules in His kingdom and He executes the right to define the borders, the organisation, rule of this kingdom. Being the same Elohim, before, during and after the Old Covenant, one would expect that same underlying principles being demanded.
      YESHUA has taken much from the Old Covenant when laying the ground rules of His kingdom. It will be to our benefit to study, find, and apply to our own lives these common (and added) requirements.
  - V005 - Hearing the voice, doing what is right, hear and guard YHWH's commands - will be free from the sicknesses of the Egyptians
    - 001 Ex 15:26 And said If {0518} thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God and wilt do that which is right in his sight and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes I will put none of these diseases upon thee which I have brought upon the Egyptians for I am the LORD that healeth thee
  - V010 - Hear, understand, Guard YHWH's voice and guard the covenant - then Israel will be a particular treasure amongst all the people of the earth
    - 001 Ex 19:5 Now therefore if {0518} ye will obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people for all the earth is mine
  - V015 - Obey YHWH and do all that He speaks, YHWH will be an enemy to their enemies and adversary to their adversaries
    - 001 Ex 23:22 But if {0518} thou shalt indeed obey his voice and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies and an adversary unto thine adversaries
  - V020 - Regulate lives according to YHWH's instructions and guard YHWH's teachings - Rain, provisions from the land, trees, eat to the full and having peace
    - 001 Le 26:3 If {0518} ye walk in my statutes and keep my commandments and do them;
  - V025 - Delighting YHWH - He will do. and enable, and give, as promised
    - 001 Nu 14:8 If {0518} the LORD delight in us then he will bring us into this land and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey
    - 002 De 11:13 And it shall come to pass if {0518} ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day to love the LORD your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul
  - V030 - Keeping ALL the commandments is to love YHWH Elohim and walk in His ways, cleaving to Him - YHWH will fulfill His promises
    - 001 De 11:22 For if {0518} ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you to do them to love the LORD your God to walk in all his ways and to cleave unto him;
  - V035 - Hearing the voice of YHWH to obey ALL the commandments - will be prosperous, lending to nations, reigning over nations
    - 001 De 15:5 Only if {0518} thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day
  - V040 - Hearing the voice of YHWH to guard and do ALL the commandments - being set high above the nations of earth
    - 001 De 28:1 And it shall come to pass if {0518} thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth
  - V045 - YHWH will fetch them even when driven out to the outermost parts of heaven as per their curses - when turning back to Him
    - 001 De 30:4 If {0518} any of thine be driven out unto the outermost parts of heaven from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee and from thence will he fetch thee
  - V050 - Casting gods from them, returning to YHWH, establish hearts to YHWH, and serve Him - being delivered from the Philistines
    - 001 1Sa 7:3 And Samuel spoke unto all the house of Israel saying If {0518} ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you and prepare your hearts unto the LORD and serve him only and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines
  - V055 - Having deep respect, fear to serve YHWH, obey His voice and rebel not against the commandment of YHWH - continua following YHWH Elohim
    - 001 1Sa 12:14 If {0518} ye will fear the LORD and serve him and obey his voice and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God
  - V060 - Following the injuction of YHWH, walking in His ways, gusrding His ordinances and commandments, judgments and testimonies, giving heed to ways, walking in truth with all their heart and soul - there will be a descendent of David on the throne
    - 001 1Ki 2:4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spoke concerning me saying If {0518} thy children take heed to their way to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul there shall not fail thee said he a man on the throne of Israel
  - V065 - Promise to David - Children had to guard and wartch their way
    - 001 1Ki 8:25 Therefore now LORD God of Israel keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him saying There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that {0518} thy children take heed to their way that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me
  - V070 - David's throne established forever - walk before YHWH in integrity of heart and in uprightness do all commanded, guarding statutes and judgements
    - 001 1Ki 9:4 And if {0518} thou wilt walk before me as David thy father walked in integrity of heart and in uprightness to do according to all that I have commanded thee and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments
  - V075 - Conditions set to Rehoboam which was the same as to David. Alas he messed up and his name is used as a curse.
    - 001 1Ki 11:38 And it shall be if {0518} thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee and wilt walk in my ways and do that is right in my sight to keep my statutes and my commandments as David my servant did; that I will be with thee and build thee a sure house as I built for David and will give Israel unto thee
  - V080 - Conditions set the Judah not to be exiled - observe and do according to all YHWH commanded and the teachings of Moses the he commanded them
    - 001 2Ki 21:8 Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if {0518} they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them
  - V085 - David set to Solomon conditions to be wise and understanding to rule Israel, be prosperous - guard the law of YHWH, do the statutes and judgments YHWH commanded Moses
    - 001 1Ch 22:13 Then shalt thou prosper if {0518} thou takest heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel be strong and of good courage; dread not nor be dismayed
  - V090 - Solomon's kingdom established forever - be firm and unmovable to do YHWH's commandments and judgments
    - 001 1Ch 28:7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever if {0518} he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments as at this day
    - 002 2Ch 7:17 And as for thee if {0518} thou wilt walk before me as David thy father walked and do according to all that I have commanded thee and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments;
  - V095 - Conditions to be restored to YHWH and experience His compassion under exile and be returned - turn to YHWH
    - 001 2Ch 30:9 For if ye turn again unto the LORD your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive so that they shall come again into this land for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away his face from you if {0518} ye return unto him
  - V100 - Even when cast out to furthest reaches of heaven then they will be gathered and returned - IF they turn and keep YHWH's commandments and do them
    - 001 Ne 1:9 But if ye turn unto me and keep my commandments and do them; though {0518} there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven yet will I gather them from thence and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there
  - V105 - YHWH is Elohim and His people His sheep - IF, TODAY, we will hear and obey
    - 001 Ps 95:7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand Today if {0518} ye will hear his voice
  - V110 - Prayer to have innards investigated and proved
    - 001 Ps 139:24 And see if {0518} there be any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting
  - V115 - Scarlet of sins be changed to white of snow, red like crimson, white as wool, eat the good of the land - If one be willing, meek, obedient
    - 001 Isa 1:19 If {0518} ye be willing and obedient ye shall eat the good of the land
  - V120 - Calling and being answered by YHWH, crying and Him saying Here I AM - Care for the poor, feeding, clothing them, taking away the yoke, stopping scorn, and speaking emptily
    - 001 Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry and he shall say Here I am If {0518} thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke the putting forth of the finger and speaking vanity;
  - V125 - Delighting self in YHWH, be exalted and be fed with Jacob's heritage - honour the Sabbath as prescribed
    - 001 Isa 58:13 If {0518} thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight the holy of the LORD honorable; and shalt honor him not doing thine own ways nor finding thine own pleasure nor speaking thine own words
  - V130 - When is abject conditions spiritually, far from YHWH, and be restored - IF people are willing to turn, then turn to YHWH, remove abominations out of YHWH's sight
    - 001 Jer 4:1 If {0518} thou wilt return O Israel saith the LORD return unto me and if {0518} thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight then shalt thou not remove
  - V135 - Having a city, a state, in abject spiritual poverty to be forgiven - IF ONE MAN IS FOUND that do judgment and seek truth
    - 001 Jer 5:1 Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem and see now and know and seek in the broad places thereof if {0518} ye can find a man if {0518} there be any that executeth judgment that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it
  - V140 - The perverted and twisted neighbours of Israel, being removed from their lands, having YHWH having compassion on them, they returning to their inheritance - learn the ways of Israel, and swear by YHWH's name
    - 001 Jer 12:16 And it shall come to pass if {0518} they will diligently learn the ways of my people to swear by my name The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people
  - V145 - Jeramiah again stand before YHWH, taking the precious from the vile, being YHWH's mouth - return to YHWH Himself not to Jeremiah's countrymen
    - 001 Jer 15:19 Therefore thus saith the LORD If {0518} thou return then will I bring thee again and thou shalt stand before me and if {0518} thou take forth the precious from the vile thou shalt be as my mouth let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them
  - V150 - Having kings and princes ruling in continium - hallow the Sabbath
    - 001 Jer 17:24 And it shall come to pass if {0518} ye diligently hearken unto me saith the LORD to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day but hallow the sabbath day to do no work therein;
  - V155 - For the king to sit on the throne of David, riding chariots and horses - execute judgment and righteousness, deliver the robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, do no wrong, violence to the underpriviledged
    - 001 Jer 22:4 For if {0518} ye do this thing indeed then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David riding in chariots and on horses he and his servants and his people
  - V160 - Prophets would cause people to hear His words, turning the people from their wicked ways - IF they stood in YHWH's counsel,
    - 001 Jer 23:22 But if {0518} they had stood in my counsel and had caused my people to hear my words then they should have turned them from their evil way and from the evil of their doings
  - V165 - Zedekiah not be executed - go the king of Babylon and his princes
    - 001 Jer 38:17 Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah Thus saith the LORD the God of hosts the God of Israel; If {0518} thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon s princes then thy soul shall live and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live and thine house
  - V170 - Having YHWH repent of the evil done to them in judgement - do as He commands
    - 001 Jer 42:10 If {0518} ye will still abide in this land then will I build you and not pull you down and I will plant you and not pluck you up for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you
  - V175 - Joshua the high priest - condition to rule and to stand
    - 001 Zec 3:7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If {0518} thou wilt walk in my ways and if {0518} thou wilt keep my charge then thou shalt also judge my house and shalt also keep my courts and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by
  - V180 - Having the storehouses of heaven open and blessings poured out - bring the tithes to the storehouse
    - 001 Mal 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now herewith saith the LORD of hosts if {0518} I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it
- V20 - YHWH testing Israel
  - 001 Ex 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses Behold I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day that I may prove them whether they will walk in my law or {0518} no
  - 002 De 8:2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness to humble thee and to prove thee to know what was in thine heart whether thou wouldest keep his commandments or {0518} not
  - 003 Jud 2:22 That through them I may prove Israel whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein as their fathers did keep it or {0518} not
- V25 - Testing YHWH
  - 001 Ex 17:7 And he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah because of the chiding of the children of Israel and because they tempted the LORD saying Is the LORD among us or {0518} not
- V30 - Ifs of curses
  - Note
    - A few thoughts went through the writer's mind when reviewing these curses.
      Clearly, YHWH expects man to be intelligent, able to think, reason and make important decisions - typical of a mature, independent person (human or spirit). This tends to thrash the "Sovereignty of God" dogma, that postulates that YHWH made all decisions and determined absolute all things that a man will think and do - even more bound than what we have in AI today.
      Granted, "free will" does not allow one to ignore laws instituted by YHWH, man cannot fly and land safely by only jumping off a cliff with no help...
      YHWH demanded intelligent knowledge of His teachings (torah) and the laws of Moses. Now the writer in no moment propose that we go back to the laws of Moses in toto, or even in part. BUT, logically, the eternal laws of YHWH are necessarily contained in (some of) these laws, and this we need to identify and apply.
      On the other hand, there are conditions under which YHWH curse a man and/or a nation (Israel in this case), but other instances exist where people, cities and nations were destroyed for commiting the same abominations as are noted in these passages.
      Take Cain, Ham (Canaan), Balaam, Sodom and Gomorra, Nineve, Babylon and others.
      Scary when we bring our country into this mix, and the West in general. How much longer is YHWH's longsuffering going to last until His anger and fury boils over and the land is judged for its sins, wickedness that screams at heaven.
      Occultism, LBTQ, abortion, murder - how many kiloliters of blood stains the land and cries out to YHWH?
      The writer is of the opinion we rather need to fear YHWH's anger and fury rather than the One Elete Order, financial ruin, political upheavel, world wars, and much more...
  - V005 - Being appointed dismay, terror, disease, fever, sorrow, having produce taken, having YHWH against them, being murdered, reigned over by enemies - listen not, abhor judgments, not do all commandments, break covenant
    - 001 Le 26:14 But if {0518} ye will not hearken unto me and will not do all these commandments;
    - 002 Le 26:15 And if {0518} ye shall despise my statutes or if {0518} your soul abhor my judgments so that ye will not do all my commandments but that ye break my covenant
  - V010 - Being punished seven times for sins, pride broken, heaven being iron, earth brass, earth spent in vain, land will be dead and trees unfruitful - if not hear when YHWH chastises the first time
    - 001 Le 26:18 And if {0518} ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me then I will punish you seven times more for your sins
  - V015 - Having chastisement multiplied 7 times, more plagues, wild beasts, children robbed, cattle destroyed, numbers diminished - walk contrary to YHWH, not listening to Him
    - 001 Le 26:21 And if {0518} ye walk contrary unto me and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins
  - V020 - Having punishment multiplied seven times, YHWH will be against them, bring a sword against them, avenge His covenant, sends pestilence, delivered into the hand of the enemy - not being reformed and instructed by YHWH's chastisements and walking contrary to Him
    - 001 Le 26:23 And if {0518} ye will not be reformed by me by these things but will walk contrary unto me;
  - V025 - Being chastised 7 times more for sins, in fury of YHWH, turned into cannibals eating sons and daughters, having YHWH abhor the nation - hear not after chastisement, walking in opposition to YHWH
    - 001 Le 26:27 And if {0518} ye will not for all this hearken unto me but walk contrary unto me;
  - V030 - Once more punished seven times for sins, YHWH being contrary in fury, they will become canibals, eating their own children, YHWH abhoring them, sanctuaries being desolated, enemies dwelling in land - after all the chastisements not listening to YHWH, walking contrary to Him
    - 001 De 8:19 And it shall be if {0518} thou do at all forget the LORD thy God and walk after other gods and serve them and worship them I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish
  - V035 - Having a curse placed on a people - not obeying the commandments, turning aside out of the way, going after other spirits
    - 001 De 11:28 And a curse if {0518} ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day to go after other gods which ye have not known
  - V040 - Having all the curses announced in De 28 burst on a nation's head - not hearing the voice of YHWH to observe all His commandments and statutes that He commanded
    - 001 De 28:15 But it shall come to pass if {0518} thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee
  - V045 - To have own and descendant's plagues extraordinary, great, long duration, evil sicknesses, the diseases of Egypt, every disease and plague in the Book - observe not guard not the words of the teaching in the Book, fearing the name of YHWH thy Elohim
    - 001 De 28:58 If {0518} thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name THE LORD THY GOD;
  - V050 - Be destroyed, stay on the land short - heart turn away, guarding not, being drawn away worshipping other gods and serving them
    - 001 De 30:17 But if {0518} thine heart turn away so that thou wilt not hear but shalt be drawn away and worship other gods and serve them;
  - V055 - The song of Moses, a terrible and frightening prophesy on Israel, fulfilled to the T - a serious warning to every Christian to fear and honour YHWH, being obedient to Him, worshipping Him in truth and in Spirit
    - 001 De 32:41 If {0518} I whet my glittering sword and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies and will reward them that hate me
  - V060 - YHWH terminating the driving out of the descendants of the giants, deep occultists with abominable practices, having them as snares and traps, and scourges, and thereby be exterminated from the land - Intermarry with these foreign idolaters
    - 001 Jos 23:12 Else if {0518} ye do in any wise go back and cleave unto the remnant of these nations even these that remain among you and shall make marriages with them and go in unto them and they to you
  - V065 - Having the hand of YHWH against one and the nation, as it was against the fathers - Obey not the voice of YHWH, rebelling against the commandment of YHWH
    - 001 1Sa 12:15 But if {0518} ye will not obey the voice of the LORD but rebel against the commandment of the LORD then shall the hand of the LORD be against you as it was against your fathers
  - V070 - Snatched away and be destroyed - continue to do bad, evil, mischievious things
    - 001 1Sa 12:25 But if {0518} ye shall still do wickedly ye shall be consumed both ye and your king
  - V075 - Having YHWH destroy His temple, having the nation cut from the land, cast from YHWH's sight, the nation a proverb and byword - turn from following YHWH, not keeping commandments and statutes, go and serve other gods and worship them
    - 001 1Ki 9:6 But if {0518} ye shall at all turn from following me ye or your children and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you but go and serve other gods and worship them
  - V080 - To have YHWH pluck a nation by the roots from the land, have the house of YHWH cast out of His sight, making it a proverb and byword among the nations - turn away, forsake commandments, serve and worship other gods
    - 001 2Ch 7:19 But if {0518} ye turn away and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you and shall go and serve other gods and worship them;
  - V085 - Ifs of being ignored
    - 001 Ps 66:18 If {0518} I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me
  - V090 - Having YHWH swore to exclude one from rest/everlasting life - harden hearts, tempting YHWH, erring in heart, not become acquainted with YHWH's ways
    - 001 Ps 95:11 Unto whom I swore in my wrath that {0518} they should not enter into my rest
  - V095 - A Nation being utterly plucked up, and destroyed by YHWH - disobey YHWH, refuse to learn the ways of YHWH, refuse to honour His name
    - 001 Jer 12:17 But if {0518} they will not obey I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation saith the LORD
  - V100 - Having a fire kindled that destroys the gates of the city, and the palaces, not being able to quench - not hallowing the Sabbath day
    - 001 Jer 17:27 But if {0518} ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day and not to bear a burden even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem and it shall not be quenched
  - V105 - The centre of a nation been laid waste - not executing judgement and justice, not delivering the human trafficed from their captors, do violence to strangers and the defenceless, not shedding innocent blood
    - 001 Jer 22:5 But if {0518} ye will not hear these words I swear by myself saith the LORD that this house shall become a desolation
  - V110 - Having the government of a nation been destroyed, and the city a curse to all nations on earth - not turning from wicked ways, not walking in YHWH's laws, not listening to the prophets warning of impending doom
    - 001 Jer 26:4 And thou shalt say unto them Thus saith the LORD; If {0518} ye will not hearken to me to walk in my law which I have set before you
  - V115 - Zedekiah not escaping the invading army, the city overrun and burnt by fire - Zedekiah not obeying the word of YHWH to hand himself over to the invading army
    - 001 Jer 38:18 But if {0518} thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon s princes then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans and they shall burn it with fire and thou shalt not escape out of their hand
    - 002 Jer 38:21 But if {0518} thou refuse to go forth this is the word that the LORD hath showed me
  - V120 - Having destroyed by the sword, experiencing famine, die by pestilence - refuse to listen to YHWH not to go to Egypt
    - 001 Jer 42:13 But if {0518} ye say We will not dwell in this land neither obey the voice of the LORD your God
    - 002 Jer 42:15 And now therefore hear the word of the LORD ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of hosts the God of Israel; If {0518} ye wholly set your faces to enter into Egypt and go to sojourn there;
  - V125 - Having YHWH refise to be sought - having children dedicated to gods, even sacrificing them, polluting self with idols
    - 001 Eze 20:31 For when ye offer your gifts when ye make your sons to pass through the fire ye pollute yourselves with all your idols even unto this day and shall I be inquired of by you O house of Israel As I live saith the Lord GOD I will not {0518} be inquired of by you
  - V130 - Having YHWH give a nation over to idols and dark spirits - not listening to YHWH, polluting His holy name with gifts and idols
    - 001 Eze 20:39 As for you O house of Israel thus saith the Lord GOD; Go ye serve ye every one his idols and hereafter also if {0518} ye will not hearken unto me but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts and with your idols
  - V135 - Having YHWH send a curse on a nation, and curse blessings - not listening to YHWH, not laying to heart to give glory to YHWH's name
    - 001 Mal 2:2 If {0518} ye will not hear and if {0518} ye will not lay it to heart to give glory unto my name saith the LORD of hosts I will even send a curse upon you and I will curse your blessings yea I have cursed them already because ye do not lay it to heart
- V35 - Curse of the fear of the giants
